Casa Moricciani
I welcome you into our 14th-century stone villa, where quiet morning light and untamed views over the Val d'Orcia set the rhythm of your stay.
A quiet sanctuary above the Val d'Orcia
When you step through the heavy wooden doorway of Casa Moricciani, the village noise fades into the quiet rustle of olive branches. This historic stone home has stood on the ridge of Castelmuzio for generations, looking out across the vast valley toward Monte Amiata.
I restored the villa to keep its authentic soul intact—the handmade cotto tiles underfoot, the exposed chestnut beams, and the deep limestone embrasures that frame the golden Tuscan light throughout the day.
“My wish is that you feel less like a guest in a rental, and more like a cherished friend coming home to Tuscany.”
— Isabella BarlocherPanoramic terrace
Unobstructed sunrise-to-sunset views over the rolling cypress ridges of the Val d'Orcia.
Village intimacy
Tucked inside the ancient stone walls of Castelmuzio, just steps from the morning café.
Restored character
Centuries-old timber beams and terracotta floors paired with modern quiet comforts.

Two private apartments, one secluded village retreat
When you stay at Casa Moricciani, the entire house is arranged to feel like your private Tuscan home. The property consists of two grand historic apartments alongside the intimate Apple Tree Room, easily welcoming intimate couples, extended families, or close circles of up to nine guests.
Original terracotta floors, hand-hewn oak beams, and wide windows look out across the rolling Val d'Orcia hills. Every room blends antique family heirlooms with quiet contemporary comforts, inviting you to unhurried mornings and peaceful starry evenings.
A note from Isabella regarding our historic architecture
"Because Casa Moricciani is an authentic medieval stone residence with dramatic stone staircases, antique furnishings, and stone terraces, our home is ideally suited for adults, couples, and older children rather than toddlers."
