A private invitation into my corner of the Val d'Orcia
When I opened the doors of Casa Moricciani and Le Casine di Castello, my intention was never to run a conventional hotel. I wanted to create a sanctuary where guests are embraced as cherished friends, stepping straight into the unhurried rhythms of our medieval village of Castelmuzio.
Every morning here begins with golden light over rolling cypress hills, fresh local bread, and the quiet beauty of a Tuscany that remains genuine, intimate, and deeply peaceful.

Perched quietly on a tufa crest between Pienza and the Crete Senesi, Castelmuzio has remained untouched by hurried travel. Here, morning arrives with the aroma of roasted coffee from the piazza and the soft tolling of fourteenth-century bells.
Step beyond the stone archways and you are embraced by silvery olive groves, winding cypress lanes, and the sweeping golden contours of the Val d'Orcia UNESCO World Heritage landscape. It is an authentic home to return to each evening, bathed in amber Tuscan twilight.

Between Val d'Orcia and the Crete Senesi
My two homes rest at an extraordinary crossroads in southern Tuscany. To our south unfurl the undulating green and gold wheat hills of the UNESCO-protected Val d'Orcia; immediately to our north rise the pale clay waves and quiet moonscapes of the Crete Senesi.
From here in Castelmuzio, you are never more than a short, picturesque country drive from the celebrated villages that define our valley. You can spend slow mornings tasting world-renowned Brunello in Montalcino, discovering renaissance architecture in Pienza, or admiring noble piazzas in Montepulciano.
Natural thermal hot springs, medieval hill alleys, and sun-drenched vineyards are effortlessly close by day. Yet what my guests cherish most is returning each dusk to the unhurried hush and cool stone shadows of our little village.
